Iran Focus: Tehran, Jul. 06 – From the Grapevine… Residents of Tehran’s western Ghisha district and Ekbatan township chanted “death to Khamenei” (Iran’s Supreme Leader) and “Allah-o Akbar” (God is the greatest) from rooftops Monday night.

Residents of Tehran’s western Ghisha district and Ekbatan township chanted “death to Khamenei” (Iran’s Supreme Leader) and “Allah-o Akbar” (God is the greatest) from rooftops Monday night.
 
Authorities fear an outbreak of anti-government demonstrations on 9 July which marks the anniversary of the 1999 student-led uprising.

Plainclothes agents have been stationed around Tehran University. These forces have been holding exercises to gain readiness to combat would-be protesters.
