Tehran, Iran, Nov. 20 – Some 50 female teachers from the southern province of Fars gathered on Sunday outside Iran’s Majlis, or Parliament, and held a protest against the refusal by the government to provide them with jobs.

They chanted “You in the Majlis, end your bureaucracy, take a moment to think about us”, and “We are waiting for our work permits and won’t leave until we get it”.

They said that they were planning to camp outside the Majlis overnight.

A separate demonstration has also been held since the morning by dozens of pharmaceutical students who had travelled from the province of Isfahan, central Iran.

The students protested against the wiping of a bill by the Majlis on Tuesday, which effectively deprived them of their chance to find suitable jobs.
