Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, Jan. 04 – Agents of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), the country’s notorious secret police, have made a number of arbitrary arrests in the western town of Bayangan, according to local residents. Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, Jan. 04 – Agents of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), the country’s notorious secret police, have made a number of arbitrary arrests in the western town of Bayangan, according to local residents.

The names of seven young men who remain detained are Vazir Qaderi, Ashkan Ahmadi, Vahed Sharafpour, Mohmmad-Reza Ramineh, Ardalan Ramineh, Seraj Qassemi, and Farhad Fattahi. Repeated inquiries by their families to find out the whereabouts of the detainees have been turned down by the local authorities.

The town in Kermanshah Province has in the past been the scene of anti-government protests.

The arrests have been made in two different districts over the past two weeks.
