Reuters: French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy called on Monday for the U.N. Security Council to become involved in the dispute over Iran’s nuclear ambitions, saying EU-Iran talks had hit a dead end. BRUSSELS (Reuters) – French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy called on Monday for the U.N. Security Council to become involved in the dispute over Iran’s nuclear ambitions, saying EU-Iran talks had hit a dead end.

“The negotiating process has reached an impasse and the involvement of the (U.N.) Security Council is needed to ensure that the requests — many times repeated — of the agency (International Atomic Energy Agency) are respected,” he told a news briefing.

A British official said earlier on Monday that Iran made no significant new proposals at talks in Brussels with diplomats from Britain, Germany and France.
