London, Mar. 01 – United States President George W. Bush declared on Wednesday that he was opposed to Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai during an unexpected visit to Kabul, Bush said a nuclear-armed Iran would be the “most destabilising thing” in the world.

“Iran must not have a nuclear weapon”, Bush said.

“The most destabilizing thing that can happen in this region and in the world is for Iran to have a — develop a nuclear weapon”, he added.

Bush said the international community was united in telling Iran that it “shall not have the means, the knowledge to develop a nuclear weapon”.
