Tehran, Iran, Nov. 26 – Iraqi President Jalal Talabani will travel to Tehran on Monday to meet Iranian officials including hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over the security situation in Iraq.

Talabani will head a visiting Iraqi delegation in Tehran on Monday, the official news agency IRNA quoted an “informed source” as saying.

The delegation will include several cabinet ministers and deputies in Iraq’s National Assembly.

Talabani was originally expected in Tehran on Saturday but was forced to postpone his visit because of a curfew to counter a surge in violence in Baghdad.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said on Sunday that the Islamic Republic was a “second home” for President Talabani and Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.

Hosseini denied reports that a tripartite meeting of the presidents of Iran, Iraq, and Syria was on the agenda during Talabani’s visit.
