Tehran, Jun. 06 – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani stated that Iran plays an “influential role” in the region despite attempts by its “enemies” to undermine it.
“Iran has turned into an independent, influential and inspiring country in the region”, Larijani was quoted as saying on Sunday by the state-run news agency Fars.
The report said Larijani had reasoned it was Iran’s influence in the region that was the main cause of hostilities from its “enemies”.
“The enemies of our country always tried to achieve their objectives such as separatism through plots and causing sedition” he said, adding: “But they realised that they could not counter this revolution thorough coups d’état or similar measures”.
