London, Feb. 14 – Here’s a sight you don’t normally see.

The Iranian and United States ambassadors to Saudi Arabia standing next to each other on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of Iraq’s new embassy in Riyadh.

Iran’s ambassador to the Saudi kingdom is Seyed Mohammad Hosseini and the U.S. ambassador is James Oberwetter.

It remains unclear whether the two men spoke to each other or not.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari formally reopened Iraq’s embassy in Riyadh, which was closed at the height of the 1991 Gulf war but has operated informally since the two countries restored diplomatic relations in July 2004.
