Tehran, Iran. Jul. 01 – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is in Tehran for talks with senior Iranian officials, state media reported on Sunday.

Chavez arrived in Iran on Saturday for a two-day trip, part of a larger tour of the region which included stops in Russia and Belarus.

The Venezuelan President was due to meet hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad later in the day.

The two countries were expected to sign several bilateral agreements.
