Baghdad, Jan. 29 – Sources within the Iranian Resistance told Iran Focus that they had obtained a secret report sent from an insurgent group operating in Iraq to a senior commander of Iran’s Qods (Jerusalem) Force.

The latest revelation comes after another classified document was obtained by the Resistance from within Iran’s intelligence and security apparatus earlier this month confirming insurgents’ links to Iran.

The Qods Force is the extra-territorial arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and oversees the Iranian regime’s external military activities in Iraq.

The latest report said, “Recently a number of individuals carrying Iranian-made weapons have been arrested in the southern provinces (of Iraq). Certain Iraqi officials have said, ‘We have concrete factual evidence of meddling in the internal affairs of Iraq by the Iranian regime’s intelligence apparatus, which are actively funding and arming individuals carrying out terrorist operations in Iraq’s cities’.”

“The question being asked by Iraqis is, ‘Why is Iran working to create instability in Iraq and supporting terrorists? Is it really to paralyze American forces in Iraq so that they cannot conduct military operations against Iran in the near future?’ All in all, Iraqi intellectuals and governmental organisations believe that Iran is not interested in seeing Iraq do well. At the same time, the Iraqi government is directly accusing the Badr organisation (Badr Brigade) of having assassinated a number of Sunni and government figures”, the report added.

Part of the report sent to the Qods Force commander stated, “In Al-Kut, Al-Amara, and Basra, the people accuse Iran of distributing illicit drugs. This issue has been quite accurately announced with specific names of those accused. Recently, rumours that operations are being carried out by Wahhabis and Sunnis no longer have any affect and people see these actions as the work of Iranian intelligence”.
