ImageTehran, Iran, Dec. 11 – Iran says it has opened the world’s largest ethylene unit on Monday.

The head of the National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NIPC), Adel Nejad-Salim, on Sunday said that the Jam Petrochemical Complex has cost 2.2 billion dollars to build and will produce over 1,320 million metric tons of ethylene a year.

Nejad-Salim added that the unit can also produce 306,000 tons of propylene, 600,000 tons of polyethylene, 300,000 tons of polypropylene, and 443,000 tons of ethylene glycol annually.
