ImageTehran, Iran, Dec. 27 – Iran and Bahrain have signed an accord reinforcing security cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement says that Iran and Bahrain will work together to further strengthen security cooperation, the official news agency IRNA reported on Thursday.

The accord was first signed five years ago and was extended by the agreement on Thursday in a ceremony attended by Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and his counterpart Khalid bin Ahmad al-Khalifa.

The countries also decided on setting up a joint security committee.
