ImageTehran, Iran, Apr. 06 – Iran signed over 2.5 billion dollars worth of technical and engineering services export contracts over the past year, an Iranian official said.

The export contracts for the Persian calendar year ending 20 March 2009 stood at $2.547 billion, said Kioumars Fatollah Kermanshahi, the deputy head of the Trade Department, which is affiliated to the Trade Development Organisation. His remarks were carried on Monday by the official state news agency IRNA.

Kermanshahi said the figure showed a 10 percent increase compared to the period of March 2007-2008.

He said that the Caucasus and Central Asian and South American states were the target markets for Iranian technical and engineering services.

Kermanshahi added that Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, India, Syria and the United Arab Emirates were Iran's main export partners.
