Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, Oct. 29 – Iran’ First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi refused to take part in an official banquet for participants at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Moscow, after the hosts refused to serve an alcohol-free dinner, an Iranian Foreign Ministry official said on Saturday. Tehran, Iran, Oct. 29 – Iran’ First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi refused to take part in an official banquet for participants at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Moscow, after the hosts refused to serve an alcohol-free dinner, an Iranian Foreign Ministry official said on Saturday.

Iran’s Islamist officials refuse to participate in any official function where alcohol is served. French and Italian officials cancelled state dinners for ex-President Mohammad Khatami during his official visits, when he demanded that no alcohol be served.
