Tehran, Iran, Mar. 09 – Iran’s nuclear officials will appear in Majlis (Parliament) next week to be questioned on the current status of the country’s nuclear affair, Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel announced on Thursday, a day after it became clear that the Islamic Republic’s nuclear file was heading for the Untied Nations Security Council, the state-run news agency Fars reported.

Haddad-Adel made the remarks during an open session of the Majlis in reply to a Majlis deputy who reacted angrily to the decision by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors to refer Iran’s nuclear dossier to the Security Council.

Hard-line deputy Saeed Abutaleb asked the Speaker during the Maljs session on Thursday, “The Majlis had ratified a law ordering the government to end all actions [by IAEA inspectors and resume enrichment of uranium”.

“At the first opportunity next week, the officials in charge of the nuclear file will be invited to speak to Majlis deputies and give their account”, Speaker Haddad-Adel responded.
