London, May 16 United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan urged Iran on Monday to cooperate with European countries that were seeking to find a diplomatic solution to the international standoff over Tehrans suspected nuclear weapons activities.
I would urge Iran to cooperate with other European countries to find a solution. It is in everyone’s interest that we settle this issue peacefully, Annan told reporters in Seoul.
Annan said that he was encouraged by the intensified diplomatic efforts to resolve this issue peacefully and seek a negotiated settlement.
He added that the international community had to take very urgent steps to deal with Tehrans proliferation threat.
