Tehran, Iran, Sep. 01 – Former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami has arrived in New York, beginning a tour of the United States.

Khatami was received at John F. Kennedy Airport by representatives of the Iranian delegation to the United Nations, the state-run news agency ISNA reported on Friday.

He is expected to travel to Chicago and Washington D.C. later today.

Khatami was President of Iran from 1997 to 2005.
