Sept. 13 (Bloomberg) — Iran’s pursuit of uranium enrichment, as reported by nuclear inspectors last week, is a “source of concern,” United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told reporters today.

Iran “should have provided necessary cooperation to confirm that all their nuclear material is for peaceful activities,” Ban said. “The report further states that contrary to Security Council resolutions Iran has not suspended enrichment-related and heavy water-related activities.”

The International Atomic Energy Agency concluded that Iran is boosting its enriched uranium stockpile while failing to help the agency determine the intentions of the program.
