MOSCOW (AP) — Iran and six world powers resume nuclear talks Monday, and Western diplomats say that if there is no progress no follow-up meeting is likely to be scheduled.

Iran is coming to the table insisting on its right to enrich uranium and seeking an easing of punitive sanctions. Western officials say Tehran is particularly hurting from international embargoes on sales of its oil.

The U.S., Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany want Iran to stop enriching uranium to levels just steps away from material that can arm nuclear weapons. But Iran insists it is enriching only to make reactor fuel and medical isotopes and denies any interest in nuclear arms.

The three Western diplomats demanded anonymity in exchange for discussing confidential information.
