From the days of the Anglo Iranian oil company to the coup against Mossadegh in 1953, it is impossible to remove oil from the political equation in Iran. It should come as no surprise that Iranian oil has factored in extensively in Western negotiations with the regime in Tehran.

Tehran, 20 Dec – Iranian authorities on Saturday hanged three political prisoners in a prison in the south-eastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan, the main Iranian opposition coalition reported.
Iran has impounded tens of thousands of cars since March because women inside the vehicles had not properly covered their hair with a headscarf, Tehran’s traffic police said Tuesday.
“Over the past eight months, more than 40,000 cases of bad hijab [headscarf] have been dealt with”, said Brig. Gen. Teymour Hosseini, quoted by the state-run ISNA news agency.
