There are police vehicles and plain-clothes agents in cars and on foot in Azadi Street.
Units from the State Security Force who were deployed in Ferdowsi Square were ordered to relocate to Enqelab and Azadi Squares.
In Rah-e Ahan (Railway) and Ferdowsi Square a large number of State Security Forces have taken position.
Earlier in the morning, police helicopters hovered over Enqelab and Azadi squares.
Elsewhere, in Kermanshah and Kurdistan provinces (western Iran), telephone communication has been cut and no contact can be made with the cities in these provinces.
Saturday marks one year since anti-government protests took the nation by storm.
