Iran President briefs new envoy to Japan

Tehran, Iran, Aug. 20 Irans hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with and briefed the Islamic Republics new envoy to Japan on Sunday, the official news agency IRNA reported.

In the meeting with Mohsen Talai, Ahmadinejad outlined the guidelines of the new ambassadors work.

The two men discussed the latest development regarding Tehran-Tokyo ties.

In late 2005, Ahmadinejad recalled 40 of the countrys envoys as part of a purge of the Islamic Republics diplomats who did not belong to the ultra-Islamist faction.
