Struan Stevenson: Iranian insults against Abbas reflect Iranian’s lies about supporting the Palestinian cause.

-

A former European politician has applauded the meeting between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Maryam Rajavi.

Struan Stevenson, a former Conservative MEP from the UK, released a video via the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)’s YouTube channel in which he states that he thinks the meeting was incredibly important and showed bravery on both sides.

Stevenson, who is President of the European Iraqi Freedom Association (EIFA), said that Abbas, as the leader of a liberation movement, can clearly recognise the importance of other resistance groups.

He said: “Both of these leaders want to bring peace, justice, freedom and democracy to the middle east. the enemy of this process is, of course, Iran. they also pretend that they love the Palestinian cause and that they are fighting on the side of the Palestinians.”

Stevenson pointed out that the Iranian regime actively works against peace in the middle east by supporting terrorist groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

He said: “They are the ones that are backing terror and backing the criminal system across the middle east.”

Stevenson said that President Abbas had shown great courage in standing up to the Iranian regime’s meddling in that part of the world.
