Alireza Zali the Head of the Government Headquarters for combating the coronavirus in Tehran on 8 July confessed that until now 4400 of Tehran’s medical staff are infected with the coronavirus.

He added: “From 8 July the number of referrals to the medical centers has changed so that the infection and hospitalization in the sections and the ICU is increasing and in opposite the number of the released is decreasing.”

Anoushirvan Mohseni Bandapi the governor-general in Tehran referring to the increasing number of the infected said that the situation in Tehran is now critical, and the controlling of the situation is becoming more difficult.

Ali Ata, the spokesman of Tehran’s City Council, formerly said that the coronavirus prevalence in Tehran is very disastrous and informed about the rapid increase in the number of the infected and deaths and said that the situation became problematic.

Payam Tabarsi Head of the Infectious Diseases Department of Masih Daneshvari Hospital on 9 July said that 50 persons of the medical staff are infected. (Tabnak 9 July)

Loghman Khosrowpour, head of Bukan governorate on 8 July said: “40 people of the medical staff of the Gholipour hospital in this county are infected with the coronavirus. (Hamshahri 8 July)

Farshidi, President of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences on 8 July, informed that 934 of the Hormozgan’s medical staff are infected with the coronavirus. (Borna 8 July)

Dr. Abbas Pezeshki, deputy director of treatment at Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, said on 8 July: “304 of the province’s medical staff are infected. (ISNA 8 July)

Abdolreza Fazel, President of Golestan University of Medical Sciences said from the start of the coronavirus outbreak until now, 200 of the province’s medical staff, including nurses, doctors, and health workers are infected. (Saed news 5 July)

Hossein Karim, President of Alborz University of Medical Sciences on 5 July said: “Until now we have 193 suspicious and 246 infected cases of the coronavirus of the Alborz’s medical staff has been reported so far, which from these numbers 25 are hospitalized, while 5 of them are in bad conditions. Rezaian, the governor of Poldokhtar according to the news about the infection of 18 of the health workers in this county said: “A number of health workers have contracted coronavirus, but it is less than 18.” (ICANA 8 July)

The situation of Tehran’s Khomeini 1000 bed hospital

According to the information received on 7 July, in this hospital, every hour one patient infected with the coronavirus has been passed. For the speaker of the hospital, you can hear code 99 which is the code for the immediate handling of the coronavirus patients.

One of the patients in this hospital said: “I can boldly say that the time which I was hospitalized, every night we had about 18 deaths. In the Children’s section, the situation is very difficult. So severe that I have seen a 6-month baby infected with the virus. On Tuesday night I saw that two of a family were hospitalized. I witnessed that first the mother died and after 2 hours her child. The condition of the hospital is extremely week in terms of health. I bought three N95 masks for 60 thousand Tomans.”

Report about the conditions in Mashhad

The progress of the coronavirus in Mashhad in very terrible. The daily death rate is very high. The hospitals are suffering from a shortage of medical staff. According to the medical staff of Mashhad, the doctors because of the extreme pressure are forced to take sedation drugs. One of the doctors said he could not be relaxed because he was witnessing 46 deaths at one day.

A resident of Mashhad said: “The people rushed into the hospitals, in just one hour we have taken 100 tests, from which 90 were positive. We have no empty beds anymore; The number of patients has increased compared to the past two weeks. All of the medical staff are busy.

A citizen said about the situation of the hospital in the north of the country: “The media say nothing about the situation of the medical staff, they are crying because of fatigue and the death of the coronavirus patients, especially those at a young age. The hospitals have not anymore enough place, so they are using most of the hospital’s space for coronavirus patients. The nurses are complaining openly against this situation.”

Because of the increase in the deaths, the situation in the morgue washing centers is becoming critical. The corps are piled up. In between of the dead people, there are children and youth too.
