Tehran, May 18 – From the Grapevine…

Activists in the south of the capital have filled walls lining the streets with political graffiti urging people to participate in anti-government protests next month to mark last June’s uprising.

In parts of Tehran’s District 13 there were slogans on the walls challenging the theocratic state’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Writings on the walls included: “Khamenei, you’ll be finished during [protests on] June 10 to 20” and “Death to Khamenei; don’t forget June 10 to 20.” Political graffiti was particularly visible at 13 Aban Boulevard, and Khaleqi and Norouzi streets.

Political activists had also distributed leaflets in homes and streets, reading, “People of Iran: come to the streets from June 10 to 20 to overthrow absolute clerical rule and the murderous clerical regime.”
