Baghdad, Jun. 23 – Iran’s state broadcasting corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding with Iraq’s radio-television network to “cooperate” on media broadcasts, Iranian state television reported on Thursday.

Under the new agreement the two neighbours will exchange radio and television programs.

The agreement also states that Tehran is prepared to set up new radio and television stations in Iraq and “train” Iraqi personnel to run such stations.

Iran already has at least seven Arabic-language television stations, more than two dozens journals, and a dozen radio stations broadcasting programs on 33 AM and 41 FM frequencies spreading its propaganda in Iraq.
