Mayor of Montreal secret visit to Iran draws criticism

The Mayor of Montreal is revealed to have secretly visited Iran to meet the Mayor of Tehran.

This trip was not revealed via the website of Montreal Mayor, Denis Coderre, which details his trips to Iraq and South America, but via the Iranian Press.
Canadian-Iranians are reported to be furious that Coderre has met with a member of a regime that Canada designates a state sponsor of terrorism.

IRAN: IRGC member killed under torture after refusing to fight in Syria

The Iranian Regime has tortured and killed one of its own Revolutionary Guards because he refused to fight in the Syrian Civil War.

Mohammad Reza Hamidavi, a 27-year-old married father-of-one, refused an order from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) to fight in the Syrian Civil War.

Iran provided missiles to Houthis in Yemen

American sources said the missiles fired at the US Navy destroyer USS Mason by Houthis rebels in the Gulf of Aden, were probably provided by Iran.

This failed missile attack occurred at the same time that Iranian news reports revealed that Iranian-made ballistic missile, Zalzal 3, were launched by the rebels in Yemen in order to hit Saudi targets.

IRAN: Poverty forces families to sell babies

A couple in Iran are being forced to sell their new-born triplets because they cannot afford the hospital costs.

The triplets were being sold for 40 million Tomans each (around $1264) but the father has been haggled down to around 20 million.

They have requested that an official inquiry is carried out by the Pentagon to establish whether Iran has engaged in more military dealings since the deal was made.

London, 14 October – On October 12, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) reports a shocking measure.  In Mokhtarabad village in South Roodbar, school authorities gave at least eight lashes of the whip to 10 schoolgirls, and expelled them from school, because their parents did not pay 30,000 toumans (approx. $8.5) to the school’s principal, in an attempt to  force impoverished families to pay money demanded by the school.

London, 14 October – October 10 marked The World Day Against the Death Penalty.  In Paris, it was celebrated at the mayor’s office of Paris’ 1st district, where an exposition Organized by the Support Committee for Human Rights in Iran (SCHRI) was held. The exposition emphasized the execution of political prisoners in Iran, and was interspersed with speeches from elected officials, human rights defenders, and witnesses of human rights violations from Iran, where executions often take place en masse and have been denounced by the U.N.
