London, 11 Feb – The Iranian regime test-fired ballistic missiles at the end of January. Through this test-firing, Tehran was also testing President Trump – testing to see how far he could be pushed and how he would react to such a defiant reaction.
Tehran knew that during Obama’s time in office it could get away with anything. No matter what actions Tehran took, it could be safe in the knowledge that not a whisper of consequences would be actioned.

Iran was left to act as it pleased, creating chaos across the Middle East and spreading terrorism – without having to face any consequences. To be fair to Obama’s administration, it did sometimes reproach the Iranian regime’s activities, but it never acted on any threats or did anything but tip-toe around it.

London, 10 Feb – There has been a lot of discussion about threats to the United States with regards to national security since the executive order regarding immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries was implemented. Many have been quick to say people already inside the US could be potential threats.

London, 10 Feb – A female political prisoner, Narges Mohammadi, has bravely described the horrors of being a mother in Iran’s notorious Evin prison in the country’s capital. She spoke about the one special hour a week in which the prisoners who are mothers can meet with their children.

London, 10 Feb – Human rights in Iran has always been a point of contention and friction between Iranian official and international bodies. Last November, the United Nation General Assembly’s human rights committee passed a draft resolution which voiced concern over continued rights abuses in Iran and urged the ruling regime to cease enforced disappearances and the widespread use of arbitrary detention.

London, 9 Feb – It has been reported that Iran has suddenly moved a missile that was being prepped for launch.
Satellite imagery showing this has been verified by US government officials.

London, 9 Feb – Last Friday the United States imposed more sanctions on Iran as a response to its test-firing of ballistic missiles. The following day Iran launched more long-range missiles. US President Trump put Iran “on notice” and Foreign Minister of Iran Javad Zarif claimed that Iran “will never use our weapons … except in self-defense”.

London, 9 Feb – The US Treasury Department announced last Friday that more sanctions are being imposed on several Iranian entities and individuals.
Undoubtedly this was to send a message to Iran that its terrorism, oppression at home and ballistic missile testing will not be tolerated.
Those on the receiving end of the sanctions are either in some way involved with supplying materials or technology for Iran’s ballistic missile program or provide support to the IRGC – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

London, 9 Feb – Senator Robert Torricelli wrote a letter to the editors of the Associated Press regarding a story that was written about the Iranian opposition. The story about the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) that it published was biased, inaccurate and misleading.

London, 9 Feb – The White House has issued a warning to Iran that there is a new President in town; one who will not take kindly to Iran’s expansionist ambitions.
The tensions between the two countries were heightened following the first public speech from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei since Donald Trump’s inauguration.
