London, 28 Nov – In August, it was revealed that the 1988 Iranian Massacre of 30,000 political prisoners was orchestrated by high-ranking members of the Iranian Regime.

This November, the Iranian Regime has sentenced the whistle-blower to 21 years in prison for “acting against national security and propaganda against the publication of secret documents” by the Special Clerical Court.

London, 28 Nov – The Iranian Resistance has written an open letter in response to the op-ed in Politico by Daniel Benjamin which attempted to smear the Iranian Resistance as terrorists who had “killed Americans”.

The letter, written by Soona Samsami, a U.S. Representative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), was sent to Politico on November 23. As Politico did not publish it, the NCRI-US released it instead, and other news outlets- like Yahoo– have picked it up.

Dr. Majid Rafizadeh, president of the International American Council and a Harvard University scholar, wrote an op-ed on Al-Arabiya in which he states that Iran is playing good cop, bad cop with the incoming Trump administration in order to achieve its geopolitical, strategic and economic objectives.

Daniel Benjamin attacked the Iranian opposition movement known as the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK/PMOI), despite being in the State Department when the MEK was taken off the terrorist list, where they never belonged in the first place.

They explain that the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) was formed in 1965 and is the largest and most organised Iranian opposition movement. It is the “main component of the coalition, National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which acts as the parliament-in-exile”.

The group is “committed to a secular, democratic, non-nuclear republic; gender equality; freedom of religion, thought, press, and association; support for peace in the Middle East; and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”.
