British Lawmakers Call for International Investigation Into Human Rights Abuses in Iran

London, 21 Nov – Over 200 British lawmakers from all political parties have joined together to demand an international investigation into human rights abuses in Iran.

At a conference in the House of Commons last week; MPs, Lords, and religious leaders voiced their concerns over the growing number of executions in Iran, including the executions of juveniles and public hangings.

Five of Omid Ebrahmi’s family members were executed by the Iranian regime, so he knows how important justice for the thousands killed in Iran in 1988 would be for family members.

Omid and his panicked family watched as the Revolutionary Guard took his 16 year old uncle, Hossein, from his home. Overwhelmed by grief, Omid’s mother was unable to talk for a month.

Reports of Giuliani’s appointment have sent red flags waving, some of which concern his business dealings, especially his work for a controversial group called the Mojahedin-e-Khalq (or MEK).  In an editorial, the New York Times notes that “he was paid to deliver speeches in 2011 and 2012 defending a cultlike Iranian exile group that was on the State Department’s list of terrorist organizations.”

London, 18 Nov – On November 17, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) published an article about the Iran’s launching of missiles and exportation of weapons to Syria, in violation of Security Council Resolution 2231.

According to Tasnim News Agency, on November 12, Khamenei’s top advisor who was the regime’s chief of staff until this summer, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, stated, “His excellency (Khamenei) approved launching missile ‘Emad’. No rockets are fired in this country unless having been approved by the Commander in Chief. Even for launching missiles in military drills, permission from the leader of revolution (Khamenei) is needed… he even determines the launching time and decides when it should be fired.”

London, 18 Nov – Members of Parliament, Lords and religious leaders from the United Kingdom expressed their concern about Iran’s appalling human rights record and the continuing executions at a conference in the House of Commons on Thursday 17 November.

The panellists welcomed the draft resolution condemning human rights abuses in Iran approved by the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee on 15 November.

American Lawmakers Renew Sanctions on the Iran Regime for Their Many Human Rights Abuses

London, 18 Nov – Earlier this week, American lawmakers voted overwhelmingly to pass bills designed to renew sanctions on the Iranian Regime for their many human rights abuses.

The sanctions, which will last for another decade, was passed with a 419 to one vote. It is an extension of the Iran Sanctions Act, designed to punish investments in the Iranian energy industry and deter the Iranian Regime’s pursuit of nuclear weapons.

UN General Assembly Voted Overwhelmingly Condemns Human Rights Situation in Syria

London, 18 Nov – The Iranian Resistance have stated that any solution for the Syrian conflict that does not involve the complete removal of the Iranian Regime and its Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) will fail.

On Tuesday, the UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favour of a resolution to condemn the human rights situation in Syria and the terrorist interventions by the IRGC in the country.

London, 18 Nov – Two key figures in the movement for a free and democratic Iran have met to discuss the successful relocation of Iranian dissidents from Camp Liberty in Iraq to Albania.

Maryam Rajavi, the President of the Iranian Resistance invited Dr Gérard Deprez, MEP and President of the Friends of a Free Iran (FOFI) at the European Parliament, to her residence in Auvers-sur-Oise on November 11.
