London, 29 Jan – Two days of talks have just taken place in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, regarding the Syrian civil war. Iran, Turkey and Russia participated in the talks which was basically all talk and no action.
Iran however declared the talks a success and highlighted the positive role it played in the past six years in Syria.

London, 29 Jan – Arash Sadeghi is an Iranian prisoner who is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence in the notorious Evin prison in Tehran. His crime was to participate in peaceful human rights activities.
On Sunday, his wife was arrested and taken back to prison after furlough to continue to serve her six-year sentence. Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee was originally arrested for “insulting Islamic sanctities” among other charges.

London, 27 Jan – Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has said that a high priority for discussion with US President Trump is tackling aggression from Iran. He is due to meet with President Trump next month.
The reason for this is because the Iran nuclear deal has increased its plans to control the region. Although the deal was to suspend its nuclear weapons program for several years, it is actually just giving Iran time to develop and expand its centrifuge capability.

London, 27 Jan – Iran has enjoyed leniency for its destructive behaviour for almost four decades now. In 1979 it developed its own kind of Islamism and has defied international norms ever since. Iran has also pursued nuclear weapons, developed a deep hatred of the United States and the West in general, and has been trying to take over the Middle East one nation at a time.

London, 26 Jan – Amidst reports of Iran currencies dropping to record lows, the budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year (March 2017 to March 2018), currently under review in Iran’s parliament, has already been described by economic analysts as a fully military-security budget. And this budget bill has been presented by the cabinet of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, described as a “moderate” by advocates of the Iran engagement camp.

London, 26 Jan – A Lebanese writer and former editor-in-chief of the quarterly al-Ijtihad magazine, Radwan al-Sayed also authored many books and has written for Arab dailies such as al-Hayat and ash-Sharq al-Awsat. In his January 25 article for Al Arabiya, al-Sayed wrote about Iran’s relationships with Russia and the US.

London, 26 Jan – In his January 26 article for Al-Arabiya, Turki Aldakhil, General Manager of Al Arabiya News Channel writes that “Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir’s response to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif at Davos was calm, to say the least. Zarif, who generally looks surprised, on the other hand spoke as if he was representing a Scandinavian country. He passionately and warmly spoke about relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran and voiced his surprise to the world on how relations reached this level of estrangement.”

London, 26 Jan – Revolutionary Guard Brigadier General Iraj Masjedi, deputy commander of the Qods Force, has been appointed by Khamenei as the new ambassador to Iraq. Masjedi has played a key role in military operations over the past 30 years, particularly those outside Iran, chiefly in Iraq and Syria.
