London, 21 Sep – As Donald Trump prepared to speak out against the Iranian Regime and its nuclear deal in his address the United Nations General Assembly, on Tuesday, a non-governmental organization which also opposes the deal was holding its annual summit nearby.

United against Nuclear Iran (UANI), a bipartisan group chaired by former US Senator Joseph Lieberman, seeks to keep Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

London, 21 Sep – F. Mahmoudi, a Kurdish-Iranian human rights activist, wrote an op-ed for Al Arabiya on how the two rogue states of North Korea and Iran are working together on nuclear technology and undermine the West.

The advance in North Korea’s weapons technology has increased considerably over a short amount of time; far too short for this to be the natural progression of research and development according to sources from the British Foreign Office, who suspect that Iran has been providing them with the money to buy the technology.

As Iranian President Hassan Rouhani addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, thousands of activists and human rights defenders gathered outside to protest the legitimization of the Iranian Regime and call for regime change.

They dressed up in caricature-esque costumes of Rouhani and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, chanted “Rouhani. No, no, no” and “Free, Free Iran”, and gave out literature to document the Regime’s crimes.

Sonia Samsami, the US Representative of the National Council of Resistance to Iran (NCRI), said: “We want the American people to know that the Iranian people do not want a clerical regime. Regime change at the hands of the people is the only solution to the Iran crisis.”

London, 20 Sep – Iran and the US are heading for a confrontation, according to one US national security expert.

Hal Brands, a Senior Fellow in the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Program on National Security, wrote an op-ed for Bloomberg in which he assessed that Iran is the adversary that the US should be concerned about, rather than North Korea.

Brands, a Henry A. Kissinger Distinguished Professor of Global Affairs at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), wrote: “[Iran is] a rogue-state adversary, a potential foe that has proved rational yet ruthless in pursuit of its interests, including the aggressive development of its nuclear program and associated military capabilities.”

London, 20 Sep – The Iranian Regime is smuggling illicit weapons into Yemen to fuel the civil strife, according to the most senior American admiral in the Middle East.

Vice Adm. Kevin M. Donegan said that Iran, who has repeatedly been accused of supplying weapons to the Houthi rebels who wish to overthrow the Western-backed government, are still trafficking illegal weapons to their terrorist proxy group which they then fire on Saudi Arabia.

The weapons that Iran is providing to the Houtis include anti-ship and ballistic missiles, like deadly sea mines and explosive boats. These weapons have been used to attack ships in the Red Sea or Saudi troops along the border between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

London, 20 Sep – Mere months after the nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers went into effect in 2016, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the world powers were handed information by a Western entity, relating to nuclear sites that the Iranian Regime was trying to keep secret but it is believed that most of these sites have never even been visited.

The IAEA has been consistently refused access to certain Iranian sites and the UN has rarely addressed this, despite the fact that Iran cannot be considered compliant if their sites haven’t been fully inspected.

London, 20 Sep – Donald Trump called Iran a “rogue nation” and denounced the 2015 nuclear agreement in his address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Tuesday.

In his speech, Trump reiterated his disdain for the nuclear deal, signed by the P5+1 countries (the US, the UK, France, Germany, Russia, and China) and Iran, calling it “an embarrassment” and “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into”.

New US Policy on Iran to Coincide With Rouhani UN Speech?

Iran Focus

London, 19 Sep – Donald Trump has certified Iran as compliant with the 2015 nuclear agreement twice since taking office, despite clear evidence to the contrary and a well-documented disdain for the deal.

However, this may all be about to change when the new US policy on Iran is announced; a policy expected to be much tougher on the Iranian Regime, their ballistic and nuclear weapons programmes, and their many other transgressions.

Many speculate that this policy change will be announced at the end of September, just in time for the quarterly review of the nuclear deal, which is due in October.

Trump Should Tackle Iran on Human Rights at UNGA

London, 19 Sep – If Donald Trump truly wants to target the Iranian Regime, he should aim for their sore spot-their human rights record- according to one journalist.

Peyvand Khorsandi wrote an op-ed for The Independent, entitled “This is what Trump should do about Iran at his first UN General Assembly meeting”, in which he explained that Iran’s long history of human rights abuses is their Achilles heel and by targeting that, he can help bring the Regime to its knees.

There is just over a month until Trump must decide whether Iran is compliant with the nuclear deal (hint: it’s not) and he has still not revealed the US policy on Iran, despite many rumours about the contents.
