London, 23 May – The leader of the Iranian Resistance has publically welcomed the positions adopted by the Arab Islamic American Summit regarding the conduct of the Iranian Regime.

Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) noted that the Iranian Regime has done nothing but undermine peace in the Middle East and further afield, since its formation in 1979.

London, 23 May – Last Friday, the Iranian Regime held its ‘elections’ and Hassan Rouhani emerged the victor but despite the claims of the ruling mullahs, this is not a victory for either the Iranian people or democracy.

Shahriar Kia, an Iranian dissident and political analyst, wrote an op-ed for the Daily Caller where he revealed that the so-called elections do not represent the views of the Iranian people but the decision of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Trump and Saudi King Vow to Combat Iran Threat

London, 22 May – At the US-Islamic summit, President Trump made it very clear that Iran is the main loser. In a new fight against extremism, he rejected the idea that it is a fight against religions.

He and Saudi King Salman said that the US is going to work with the Muslim world in an effort to put an end to extremism and terrorism.

The Saudi King also reiterated that Islam always has been, and still is, “a religion of tolerance and peace”. He said Iran is at the centre of the conflict and it is their responsibility, and that of the whole world, to “fight the forces of evil and extremism wherever they are”.

Trump Accuses Iran of Fuelling Sectarian Conflict

London, 22 May – Donald Trump accused Iran of fuelling the “fires of sectarian conflict and terror” in the Middle East, during a speech on Islam in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Trump, who is on his inaugural foreign visit, gave this speech to the Arab Islamic American Summit in Riyadh, one day after Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was‘re-elected’ to serve a second term.

London, 22 May – Hassan Rouhani was the victor of the so-called elections in Iran, last Friday, and will serve a second term as President of the Iranian Regime, but as many Iranian experts have pointed out, this changes nothing about the Regime.

Heshmat Alavi, a human rights activist, wrote an op-ed for Al Arabiya, in which he assessed that following Rouhani’s‘re-election’, the most important issue was ending Iran’s destructive influence on the Middle East.

Trump Accuses Iran of Bankrolling Syrian War Crimes

London, 22 May – Donald Trump used his first keynote speech abroad to criticise the Iranian Regime for supporting the Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad, in his crimes against his own people and for Iran’s support for terrorism.

While addressing the leaders of Arab and Muslim-majority nations at the Arab Islamic American Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he said: “There is a regime that is responsible for so much instability in the region. I am speaking, of course, of Iran. From Lebanon, to Iraq, to Yemen, Iran funds arms and trains terrorists and other extremist groups.”

London, 19 May – John Bolton, the prominent diplomat and former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations sat down for an exclusive interview with the Voice of America’s Persian service just days before the presidential election in Iran.

He said, “If free elections were held in Iran, Ayatollahs would be the losers.”

In an interview on May 17th, the former Undersecretary of State for International Security said, “I think the difference between moderates and extremists is a lie because only those can run for election whom pass Guardian Council’s screening and meet supreme leader’s approval.”
