London, 3 Jan – Hundreds of people gathered in front of the notorious Evin Prison in Iran on January 2, to show support for Arash Sadeghi, a political prisoner on hunger strike.

The demonstrators have called for the immediate release of Arash and his wife Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraie, and all other political prisoners.

London, 2 Jan – Iran has announced a new ambassador to Syria after three months of the role going unfilled due to reports of disagreements on who should fill the role, AlArabiya.net reported on Sunday.

Javad Turk Abadi was named to the role after the previous ambassador completed his mission three months ago.

Turkmenistan halts gas exports to Iran over payment row – report

The Father of Arash Sadeghi also goes on hunger strike

Hossein Sadeghi said: “my son Arash has gone on hunger strike for 67 days and he is struggling with death now. On Monday 26th December 2016, Arash was transferred to Taleghani Hospital of Tehran for treatment due to the critical health condition.

London, 30 Dec – An article in the Guardian, published December 29 reports on the renewed investigation by an Argentinian court on Thursday into a prosecutor’s accusation that former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner covered up the alleged involvement of Iranians in a bombing that killed 85 people.

The attack was perpetrated on a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires in 1994 wounding hundreds.

Syria and Russia Work together to Broker Cease Fire in Syria

London, 30 Dec – Russia and Turkey brokered a nationwide ceasefire in Syria that effect at midnight (2200 GMT) This is a potentially major breakthrough in the conflict.

The deal was announced hours earlier by Russian President Vladimir Putin and confirmed by the Syrian army and opposition, but does not include designated “terrorists” like the Islamic State group,Yahoo News reports.

London, 29 Dec – On Tuesday, Shahrvand Daily, part of the Tehran Times, first reported on the struggles that force many of the poorest Iranian people, the homeless, to spend their nights in empty graves. Shahrvand Daily published the shocking footage, shot by Saeed Gholamhoseini in Shahriar, some 20 kilometers west of Tehran, which showed some 50 men, women, and children, living in the cemetery.

London, 28 Dec – Powerline News published a story on December 27 by Paul Mirengoff, about documents posted last week by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and quotes the story byJenna Lifhits of the Weekly Standard, that allegedly reveals that President Obama granted Iran permission to stockpile uranium in excess of the 300 kilogram limit set by the nuclear deal.

According to the story, the exemptions have been kept secret for nearly a year, but the Trump administration intends to make them public, which is possibly why the IAEA decided to reveal them.
