MEPs condemn mass executions in Iran

Brussels, 5 Aug – Following the mass execution of 25 Sunni political prisoners by the Iranian regime on August 2, Members of the European Parliament called for the suspension of “all economic relations with Iran,” and a conditioning of future relations “to a halt in executions and clear progress on human rights.”

Calling the execution “a crime against humanity,” the MEPs urged the global community to “bring the record of the Iranian regime’s crimes before the International Criminal Court.”

Iran: Names of 25 Sunni political prisoners mass executed

London, 5 Aug – The Iranian authorities have finally released at least some of the names of those executed on Tuesday, August 2 in Gohardasht prison in Karaj, north-west of Tehran.

In a bizarre twist, those executed were also accused of the “assassination of Mohammad Sheikholeslam, member of Assembly of Experts from Kurdistan”, despite the regime having previously accused and executed six people for that in March 2015.

London, 5 Aug – A human rights campaigner has called for an end to the barbaric crime of capital punishment in Iran.

Ahmad Ebrahimi, who was born in Iran but now lives in London with his son, lost friends and family members at the hand of the “tyrannical” Iranian regime.
He warned that Western governments must become involved to put an end to the state-sanctioned murder which continues to rise in the country and totalled nearly 1,000, last year.

Fatah blasts Iranian insults

London, 4 Aug – Iran is trying “to ease tension” with the Palestinians following derogatory remarks made by Iranian officials about the meeting between President Mahmoud Abbas and the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Maryam Rajavi, reported Asharq Al-Awsat, the influential Arabic newspaper.

A former European politician has applauded the meeting between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Maryam Rajavi.

Struan Stevenson, a former Conservative MEP from the UK, released a video via the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)’s YouTube channel in which he states that he thinks the meeting was incredibly important and showed bravery on both sides.

Palestinians demand an apology from Iran after their President is insulted for meeting with Iranian opposition leader

London, 4 Aug – Palestinians want an apology from Iran after Regime officials insulted President Mahmoud Abbas over a meeting with Iranian Resistance leader, Maryam Rajavi, according to an official from the Fatah Movement.

A top adviser to the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hussein Sheikh al-Islam, said the Palestinian leader “has been a collaborator with the Central Intelligence Agency for a long time.”

“Stop appeasing Iran” – British lawmaker

London, 4 Aug – A British Parliamentarian has written an op-ed for US News encouraging Western governments to stop appeasing the brutal Iranian Regime and support the democratic option offered by the Resistance Forces instead.

Sir David Amess, a Conservative MP for Southend West, assessed the Iran nuclear agreement after its one-year mark and found that it has provided very few benefits for anyone who is not part of the Iranian Regime.

Iran executes more than 20 Sunni prisoners before families can pay final visit

London, 3 Aug – Iranian prison authorities invited prisoners families to pay one final visit to their loved one before Iran executed them.

However, Iran had already executed the prisoners before the first of the families had arrived, according to The Express. The families were instructed to go to the coroner’s office to retrieve their relative’s bodies.

Iranian political prisoners on hunger strike to protest the mass execution of Sunni prisoners

London, 3 Aug -Sunni political prisoners have been on hunger strike since Tuesday to protest the mass execution of Iranian prisoners.

Twenty Sunni political prisoners were executed in the early hours of Tuesday morning before their families had arrived to say goodbye.

Maryam Rajavi: Iran’s mass execution of Sunni prisoners is a crime against humanity

London, 3 Aug -Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, has condemned Iran’s mass execution of Sunni prisoners as “an appalling crime against humanity.”

Twenty Sunni prisoners were executed in Gohardasht Prison, in Karaj, Iran on Tuesday. Their families had been told they could visit one final time, as long as they arrived before 3pm.
