Bahrain jails five for Iran linked militancy

London, 6 Nov – Five Bahrainis were convicted on Thursday of conspiring with Iran to carry out attacks inside Bahrain, sentenced to life imprisonment and stripped of their citizenship, Bahrain’s Public Prosecutor was cited as saying by the state news agency BNA.

On Wednesday, the interior ministry said it had arrested 47 members of a group it said had ties to “terror elements in Iran” and was also plotting attacks.

Seven Sunnis at risk of imminent execution in Iran

London, 5 Nov – Reports received from inside Iran prisons on Tuesday indicate that Tehran is about to execute seven Sunni prisoners, National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) reported in its website.

These seven are held in Gohardasht (Rajai-Shahr) Prison in the city of Karaj, north-west of Tehran. The death-row prisoners are: Taleb Maleki, Kaveh Waissi, Pouriya Mohammadi, Kaveh Sharifi, Mohammad Yavar Rahimi, Bahman Rahimi and Haidar Rashidi.

Sen McCain urges US protection for Camp Liberty residents

London, 5 Nov – United States Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry expressing deep concern about the reported attack on Iranian dissidents, members of the main opposition group People’s Mojahedin (PMOI, or MEK) at Camp Liberty, Iraq on 29 October that killed more than 20 residents and injured dozens more, McCain’s website reported on Wednesday.

The brutal terrorist attack against defenceless Iranian refugees in Camp Liberty near Baghdad airport on Thursday 29 October was a crime against humanity. It was a massacre we have warned would happen for months. In numerous letters, press releases and statements we had alerted the USA government, the UN and the EU that the Iraqi government is not a competent entity to be responsible for the security of this camp and that as such, the refugees interned within this ‘death-camp’ were in imminent danger.

24th Camp Liberty resident dies of injuries in rocket attack

Paris, 3 Nov – The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) published in a statement on 2 November:

PMOI (MEK) member Hassan Nour-Ali, who was injured in the October 29 criminal rocket attack on Camp Liberty, died in hospital from his injuries this evening, November 2. He is the 24th martyr of the deadly rocket attack on Camp Liberty.

Iranian dissidents mourn death at Camp Liberty

Paris, 3 Nov – Following a brutal attack on a de facto refugee camp in Iraq, world leaders and Iranian dissidents gathered in Paris on Sunday to mourn the casualties, Digital Journal reported.

A memorial service was held in Paris this past Sunday following the deadly missile attack on Camp Liberty in Baghdad, where over 2,000 Iranian dissidents have been forced to live in exile. World leaders and Iranian dissidents were in attendance. All of the uncovered evidence so far points to the Iranian government having launched the attack.

Amnesty: Iraq must investigate deadly Camp Liberty rocket attack

London, 31 Oct – A rocket attack on a camp of Iranian exiles in Iraq is a despicable and callous crime, Amnesty International said as it called for an immediate investigation, urgent protection and assistance for the camp’s residents.

Camp Liberty, in north-east Baghdad, was struck by a barrage of rockets last night, which killed at least 23 people, including one woman, and injured dozens. An Iraqi Shi’a militia, the al-Mukhtar Army, claimed responsibility for the attack and warned that the attack may be repeated.

Among the rockets fired this evening at Camp Liberty were 122-mm Katyusha rockets and others similar to Russian NB-24 rockets which the Iranian regime calls Falaq.
A number of other PMOI (MEK) members martyred in the rocket attack on Camp Liberty are Abutaleb Hashemi, Hamid Dehqan, Kiomars Yousefi, and Hossein Gandomi.
The identity of two of the martyrs has not yet been confirmed.
