London, 4 Oct – More than thirty British MPs and Lords have called for justice over the 1988 Iranian massacre of over 30,000 political prisoners in a recent statement.

During the Liberal Democrat party conference, held in Bournemouth in September, a delegation from the Iranian Resistance was invited to take part and to meet with MPs, Lords, and high-ranking members of the Lib Dems to discuss ongoing human rights abuses in Iran, particularly the executions of children.

The statement read: “We are deeply concerned over the deterioration of human rights situation in Iran and in particular the increasing number of executions which has surpassed 3200 during Rouhani’s tenure with over 200 reported executions since July 2017.”

London, 3 Oct – A human rights organisation focused on Iran has released its latest report on the situation of human rights under the Iranian Regime and, unsurprisingly, it is not an uplifting read.

Iran Human Rights Monitor has collected information about executions, corporal punishment, torture, deaths in custody, and the treatment of political prisoners. Whilst reading this, it is important to keep in mind that this has all happened within a 30 day period.

Executions

There have been 42 executions in September that are known to IHRM, but only 22 of these have been reported by state media. The fear is that the number may in fact be much higher because of the secrecy surrounding executions in Iran.

Of the 42 known executions, seven were carried out in public and all others were carried out in the prisons, with other inmates forced to watch as a form of psychological torture.

London, 3 Oct – When the international community ignores the Iranian Regime’s crimes against humanity, it is just strengthening the mullahs, according to one prominent member of the Iranian Resistance.

Soona Samsami, the US representative for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), wrote an op-ed for The Hill discussing the Iranian Regime’s gross mistreatment of their own people and how this how been allowed to continue- with barely any criticism from other nations- since the first days of their rule.

Most recently, Samsami notes, is the case of the 22 political prisoners in Gohardasht Prison, Karaj (just west of Tehran), who went on a 40-day hunger strike in response to their treatment by the Regime.

London, 2 Oct – The Iranian Resistance is calling on all other international human rights advocates to take action to save Arabi’s life who has been on hunger strike for 40 days and obtain his freedom so that he can visit a doctor.

Meanwhile Amnesty International has called for the immediate and unconditional release of Iranian political prisoner Soheil Arabi.

They expressed concern over his welfare and demanded that he have access to full medical care, as he is being denied it by the Regime. He is currently in critical condition, is suffering from stomach bleeding, and his blood pressure is remarkably low at 50/60.
