The Hague, 10 Aug – Members of the Dutch-Iranian community and supporters of the Iranian Resistance staged a protest in front of Dutch Parliament in The Hague to show solidarity with political prisoners in Iran and especially those excecuted in the past few weeks.

London, 10 Aug – A group of protesters in the UK staged a three-day protest and hunger strike last weekend, to show solidarity with the political prisoners currently held in Iran and to commemorate those murdered by the Iranian regime in early August.

The relatives of the victims were told they could have one final meeting with their loved ones and when they turned up, they were told that the executions had already happened.

The Independent, an influential British newspaper, today reported on the culmination of a series of demonstrations to mark the Iranian regime’s widespread and increasing use of execution against political protestors.

Protesters staged a mock execution as they entered the final day of their hunger strike outside Downing Street. The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) is calling on the UK government to acknowledge the executions and human rights abuses in Iran, Caroline Mortimer reported.

For the Iranian opposition members trapped in Camp “Liberty”, near Baghdad Airport, the name of their tiny compound has become a sick joke. These refugees are the final remnants of a substantial community numbering almost 4000, that occupied a vast sprawling enclave called Camp Ashraf, 60 miles north of Baghdad in Diyala Province. They fled to Iraq following a vicious pogrom in the 1980’s which saw over 120,000 of their People’s Mojahedin’s Organisation of Iran (PMOI) movement executed by the theocratic Iranian regime. They built Camp Ashraf into a large, thriving city with parks, streets, factories, a library, museum, university and accommodation and they lived there in harmony with the local Iraqi population.

UK rights campaigners denounce Iran prison massacres

London, 8 Aug – Human rights campaigners are in the middle of a three-day hunger strike outside Downing Street to pressure the United Kingdom government into denouncing Iran’s mass execution last week.

Last Wednesday, Iran executed more than 20 Sunni political prisoners on the anniversary of the 1988 massacre in which over 30,000 political prisoners were executed in several weeks.

London, 8 Aug – Last week, Iran executed a nuclear scientist who arrived in America six years ago before demanding to be sent home.

Shahram Amiri appeared in online videos from an undisclosed location within the US in 2010 but just a few months later, he arrived at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington (Iran does not have its own embassy in Washington) to go home.

Brussels, 5 Aug – Following the mass execution of 25 Sunni political prisoners by the Iranian regime on August 2, Members of the European Parliament called for the suspension of “all economic relations with Iran,” and a conditioning of future relations “to a halt in executions and clear progress on human rights.”

Calling the execution “a crime against humanity,” the MEPs urged the global community to “bring the record of the Iranian regime’s crimes before the International Criminal Court.”

Iran: Names of 25 Sunni political prisoners mass executed

London, 5 Aug – The Iranian authorities have finally released at least some of the names of those executed on Tuesday, August 2 in Gohardasht prison in Karaj, north-west of Tehran.

In a bizarre twist, those executed were also accused of the “assassination of Mohammad Sheikholeslam, member of Assembly of Experts from Kurdistan”, despite the regime having previously accused and executed six people for that in March 2015.

Call for halt to executions in Iran

London, 5 Aug – A human rights campaigner has called for an end to the barbaric crime of capital punishment in Iran.

Ahmad Ebrahimi, who was born in Iran but now lives in London with his son, lost friends and family members at the hand of the “tyrannical” Iranian regime.
He warned that Western governments must become involved to put an end to the state-sanctioned murder which continues to rise in the country and totalled nearly 1,000, last year.
