Iran Focus

London, 18 Dec – The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and other countries in the nation have objected to threats made by officials of the Iranian regime.

The GCC said that Iran would be violating diplomatic norms and also the United Nations principles of good neighbourliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations.

The GCC, formed in 1981, includes the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar.

London, 18 Dec – Danger and conflict have been rising in Aleppo since the ceasefire abruptly ended last week.

The Russian Government claimed that all civilians and democratic resistance forces have been evacuated; the only people left in the city are terrorists.

The Syrian Resistance forces, the Turkish Foreign Minister, and the United Nations counter that there are still thousands of civilians in Aleppo. Many civilians were forced to flee in fear for their lives when gunfire sounded as they tried to board buses out of the capital.

London, 18 Dec – Iran may have accepted an illegal payment from the Venezuelan government, which could undermine the recent renewal of US sanctions towards Iran.

An Iranian company provided works for the Venezuelan government and was reportedly paid $3 billion US, which led the US’s Attorney’s Office to suspect money laundering.

According to Armin Rosen at the Tablet, Iran and Venezuela are “natural allies” and share common enemies (Israel and the US).

London, 16 Dec – President Obama has used a rare constitution manoeuvre to allow a sanction bill for Iran to be legalised without his signature. It is the first time in over 21 years that this has happened. The Iran Sanctions Extension Act is now legal and is the latest in the Iran nuclear deal saga in which the United States and other world powers decided to reduce sanctions in exchange for commitments from Iran about its quest to produce a nuclear weapon.

Iran: How to Stop the Situation in Syria From Worsening

Iran Focus

London, 16 Dec – Thanks to social media it is clear for the world to see what is happening in Aleppo. Politicians in the West can therefore not deny knowing what is happening in Syria. How is it possible that they can ignore the heart-breaking images of innocent men, women and children suffering through this war in Syria?

Moderate rebel groups fighting for democracy have lost a stronghold – but they have not surrendered and their demands stand. They still want the Assad government ousted and they want foreign influences expelled immediately from Syria.

Mainly Iran and all of its proxies.

London, 16 Dec – A human rights activist has written an op-ed on the American Thinker, referring to the eradication of ISIS as one of the Iranian Regime’s Achilles heels.

Peace in the Middle East

Heshmat Alavi wrote that the Iranian Regime derives its power from a crackdown on rights and freedoms domestically as well as the exporting of terrorism and fundamentalism which leads to the destabilisation of the Middle East.

The appeasement policy of the US towards the Iranian Regime over the past 40 years has significantly contributed to conflict in the Middle East and the rise of ISIS.

London, 15 Dec – The Supreme Leader of the Iranian Regime has called for the eradication of Israel, in the midst of a Twitter rant about how the United States should be blamed for the tragedy in Aleppo.

Ayatollah Ali Khameini, the supreme leader of the Regime since 1989, called on Muslims and Palestinians to fight the ‘Zionist Regime’ and threatened that the Jewish state would not exist in 25 years’ time.

Khameini also gave victory medals to Iranian troops who captured US soldiers, in a bizarre propaganda move designed to ‘humiliate’ the US.

London, 15 Dec – On Tuesday evening, 120 men and women were arrested by the Iranian Regime’s Security Forces for attending a private party at a coffee shop, which featured two “underground” singers.

Also on Tuesday night, at least 30 young men and women were arrested by the “morality police” for attending a mixed-gender birthday party.

Shahin Gobadi of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said: “The clerical regime has never been so isolated at home and loathed by the Iranian people, in particular by the youth and women.

As such, it is resorting to more and more repressive measures to confront this growing trend.”

Access to Healthcare in East Aleppo Has Become Close to Impossible

London, 15 Dec – Plans to evacuate civilians from Aleppo have stalled this week, as renewed air strikes and shelling have again been destroying the Syrian city.

The ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey that only began on Tuesday was supposed to end the five-year-long war and give Syrian President Bashar al-Assad a victory.

Then, on Wednesday, air strikes, shelling and gunfire broke out again; Turkey stated that the Syrian government forces had broken the peace treaty, while the Syrian government said that shelling by rebels had killed six people.

One of the biggest problems with the broken ceasefire is that the Syrian people are not able to access to healthcare.

Hollow Boasting of Iran Regime’s President Rouhani

Iran Focus

London, 15 Dec – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has claimed that he will order his country to develop nuclear-powered warships but a report on Popular Mechanics claims that this is unlikely.

Rouhani’s order is likely to be a brash response to the renewal of economic sanctions by the US Congress and not something that the Iranian military can carry it out.

The Iran Sanction Act, which was passed by the US Senate last week, will extend the sanctions against Iran until 2026. It is a punishment for their consistent violations of the 2015 nuclear deal and their associations with terrorist groups like Hezbollah.

Rouhani states that the 2015 nuclear deal does not actually block the construction of nuclear-powered warships, but whether they could achieve it, is up for debate.
