Tackling Iran Is Vital

Iran Focus

London, 13 Nov – The malign actions of the Iranian Regime deserve to be scrutinised by the international community and punished accordingly.

In the past two months alone, the Iranian Regime has:

• Plotted the assassination of Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, and forced him to leave office through their Hezbollah proxy.

• Provided weapons to their Houthi proxies in Yemen to fire on Saudi Arabia

London, 13 Nov – The Iranian Regime is using its terrorist proxy Hezbollah to control Lebanon through destabilisation, according to the recently resigned prime minister, Saad Hariri.

In an emotional TV interview on Sunday night, Hariri said: “I am not against Hezbollah as a political party but it should not be the cause of the destruction of Lebanon.”

He resigned on November 4, in a live conference from Riyadh, because of Iran’s malign influence in Lebanon, stating that he feared that he would be assassinated by Iran and Hezbollah, as his father, Rafiq Hariri, was in 2005.

London, 13 Nov – A British aid worker falsely imprisoned in Iran has been brought to tears over comments from Conservative ministers over her reason for visiting Iran.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who was arrested on charges of spying for the UK and attempting to overthrow the Iranian Regime whilst on holiday in April 2016, is understandably angry over the flippant remarks of Foreign Minister Boris Johnson and Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Michael Gove.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a charity worker who had taken her baby daughter to visiting family for the Iranian New Year, is now being charged with ridiculous additional crimes against the Regime and the Iranian authorities are using the statements of Johnson and Gove as evidence against her and she could face an additional five years in prison.

London, 13 Nov – The Iranian Regime has rejected calls from the French President Emmanuel Macron to hold talks over their ballistic missiles programme, claiming on Sunday that the programme was purely “defensive” and unrelated to the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers.

This comes shortly after Macron expressed concern over Iran’s ballistic missile program on Thursday- citing an Iranian missile fired at Saudi Arabia by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen earlier this month- and raised the issue of international sanctions related to Iran’s missile programme.

Iran’s Malign Influence in Lebanon

Iran Focus

London, 11 Nov – The shock announcement of Lebanese prime Minister Saad Hariri’s resignation is making many wonder what the reasons were behind his decision. There are many political reasons such as the influence of Hezbollah which is in control of around a quarter of the Lebanese territory and is more powerful than the country’s army.

Iran is the one behind Hezbollah and Syria’s interference in Lebanese politics, and it is certain that this was at least part of the reason why Hariri resigned. He left the country before announcing his intentions – no surprise, given that Hezbollah is known to assassinate those that speak out against it.

Why Did Obama Hide Documents That Link Iran With Terror Group?

London, 11 Nov – A large number of documents that were seized during the raid on Abbottabad in Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden were recently made public. The documents which included photos and computer files show that there are undeniable links between Iran and the terrorist al-Qaeda group.

Many have speculated as to the reasons why former President Barack Obama did not make the documents public, but it is very clear for all to see that releasing them would have ensured that the 2015 Iran nuclear deal would not have been finalised.

The documents also link Iran with Qatar and is another reason as to why the former President did not want the documents made public.

London, 10 Nov – France has joined the US and Saudi Arabia in blaming Iran for last weekend’s ballistic missile launch by the Houthi rebels in Yemen targeting Riyadh International Airport.

President Emmanuel Macron said, during a visit to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on Thursday, November 9, that this illustrated the need for increased negotiation with Iran over missile development to prevent this happening again.

He said: “The missile which was intercepted by Saudi Arabia launched from Yemen, which obviously is an Iranian missile, shows precisely the strength of their [program]. There are extremely strong concerns about Iran [across the Middle East] and there are negotiations we need to start on Iran’s ballistic missiles.”

London, 10 Nov – The Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister has said that his country would welcome sanctions on the Iranian Regime for its support of terrorism and violation on the United Nations resolution on the testing of ballistic missiles that enshrines the 2015 nuclear agreement.

In an interview with CNBC, Adel al-Jubeir said that an effective strategy for dealing with the Regime would be to hold Iran accountable its support of terrorism and its illicit ballistic missile programme, as well as fixing the overall nuclear agreement.

These comments came just days after an Iranian-built ballistic missile was fired towards Riyadh International Airport by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, on Saturday. The missile was caught by Saudi defence systems and destroyed before it could do any damage.

Missile Attack by Houthis Is “Act of War” by Iran

Iran Focus

London, 10 Nov – The ballistic missile attack on Riyadh International Airport by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels last weekend is undoubtedly an act of war by the Iranian Regime.

There is no secret that the Iranian Regime, its Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and its militant Quds Force have a policy of arming, funding and training proxy terrorist groups across the Middle East, including the Houthis and Al-Qaeda.

It is also no secret that the Iranian Regime has spent years trying to undermine Saudi Arabia and increase anti-Saudi feelings through social media and Arabic language outlets, or that Iran is supplying terrorist groups with the means to target Saudi Arabia with weapons smuggling, and sponsorship of terrorism.
