Iran: Bahrain Arrests Members of Terrorist Cell Backed by Iran

London, 31 Mar – On Sunday March 26th, 14 individuals were arrested in Bahrain for links to terrorism. During a raid the Bahrain authorities discovered a large number of homemade bombs, weapons and explosive devices.

It has been reported that these individuals were involved in a plot to assassinate officials in the country and to carry out major terrorist attacks.

US Military General Warns About the Threat of Iran

On Wednesday 29th March, one of the United States’ top military officials told the House Armed Services Committee that the threat of Iran must not be underestimated. Commander of the U.S. Central Command, Army Gen. Joseph Votel, said that the actions of Iran are provocative and could be “unsafe”.

London, 28 Mar – On Sunday 26th March, the Foreign Ministry of Iran announced through the state-run IRNA news agency that it was imposing sanctions on 15 American companies, claiming that they support terrorism, Israel’s occupation of Palestine and the repression. This is the latest in rising tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic.

The statement from the Foreign Ministry said: “The sanctioned companies have, directly and/or indirectly, been involved in the brutal atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in the occupied Palestinian territories.”

UN Ambassador Plans to Combat Iran Aggression

London, 28 Mar – At the AIPAC conference in Washington on Monday, United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley was warmly received by the audience. She spoke about Iran and its negative influence in the Middle East and the dangerous consequences of the nuclear deal signed in 2015.

Haley, on several occasions, criticised the Obama administration’s treatment and enforcement of the nuclear deal, saying: “When the Iran deal took place, all it did was empower Iran and it empowered Russia.”

House Speaker Calls for Tough Action Towards Iran

London, 28 Mar – Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Paul Ryan, spoke about Iran yesterday at the 2017 AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington. His rhetoric was tough and firm and he said that the Islamic Republic poses a great danger to the national security of the United States.

He called for non-nuclear sanctions to be imposed on Iran’s ruling regime and advised that the country’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) should be designated as a foreign terrorist organisation.
