London, 7 Jan – The Iranian Resistance in Canada has called for the political prisoner Ali Moezzi to be freed immediately.
The Canadian Friends of a Democratic Iran wrote a letter to Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), wanting more information about Moezzi’s condition.

London, 6 Jan – During the U.S. election campaign, Donald Trump said that the nuclear agreement with Iran was “the worst deal” the United States government had ever negotiated. Looking at the facts, it is hard not to agree with this. The U.S. basically handed to Iran between $100 billion and $150 billion by unfreezing oil revenues. It also dismantled a large framework of international sanctions that had resulted in the country’s exports being cut in half, banned it from the international financial system and also started to pose a threat to the Iranian regime with the likeliness of domestic unrest.

According to news media, Republicans are optimistic that Donald Trump would support these additional actions, given his opposition to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

London, 5 Jan – In an interview with regime’s TV, Iranian regime’s president Hassan Rouhani tried to misrepresent regime’s deep economic crisis and overwhelming pressures on people by putting together some economic facts and figures. But, fearing the dimensions of youth unemployment, he inevitably described it as the regime’s big dilemma.

London, 3 Jan – According to economic analysts, the budget bill that is currently being debated in the Regime’s Parliament regards military and security budgets for 2017-18 and will provide funding for terrorist groups and repressive security forces.
The Iranian Ministry of Defence is due to get $5.75 billion and whilst that might not sound huge compared to a country like Saudi Arabia, Iran’s GDP is a lot lower than that of its Gulf neighbour.

London, 3 Jan – Hundreds of people gathered in front of the notorious Evin Prison in Iran on January 2, to show support for Arash Sadeghi, a political prisoner on hunger strike.
The demonstrators have called for the immediate release of Arash and his wife Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraie, and all other political prisoners.
